Los Angeles Psychologist for Adults, Teens & Couples
You're here because something isn't working. Maybe your relationship feels like it's slipping away. Maybe anxiety has taken over your days. Maybe you're going through something you never expected — a divorce, a betrayal, a loss — and you're exhausted from carrying it alone.
I'm Dr. Jené Verchick. I've been doing this work for over 26 years, and I can tell you: reaching out is the hardest part. Everything after that gets easier.
How I Work
I'm not the kind of therapist who sits quietly and nods. I'm active, direct, and engaged. I'll help you understand what's actually going on — not just the surface-level version — and give you real tools to change it.
My clients tell me what they value most is that I'm honest with them. I won't waste your time, and I won't let you stay stuck in patterns that aren't serving you.
I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and two master's degrees, including one from USC. I'm licensed by the California Board of Psychology.
What I Help With
Couples Therapy & Marriage Counseling Stuck in the same fights. Feeling disconnected. Rebuilding after a betrayal. I work with couples in real time — interrupting patterns, coaching new responses, creating actual change in the session.
Individual Therapy Anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, trauma, divorce, addiction. If you're quietly struggling behind the scenes, therapy can be the place where you finally feel understood.
Teen Therapy Adolescence is hard. If your teen is anxious, withdrawn, angry, or going through something they won't talk to you about, I can help.
Therapy for Startup Founders The psychological toll of building a company is real. Depression, anxiety, isolation, burnout, relationship strain. I work with founders on what they can't talk about with their investors or their team.

What Clients Say
"We came to Dr. Verchick at a breaking point in our marriage. I was convinced we wouldn't make it another year. She helped us slow down, really listen to each other, and finally communicate without anger. For the first time in years, I feel hopeful about my relationship. She gave us the tools to rebuild, and I can honestly say she changed our marriage."
"I was skeptical about therapy. I didn't want to sit in a room and talk in circles. But Dr. Verchick made me feel comfortable right away. She gets straight to the heart of the issue while still being incredibly compassionate. Therapy with her has been the best investment I've ever made in myself."
"Having small kids put so much stress on our marriage. We were exhausted, constantly miscommunicating, and felt more like co-parents than a couple. Dr. Verchick helped us rediscover us. Our family feels stronger because of her."
